Meet José

José Juan Borges serves as General Agent and Chief Executive Officer of MassMutual Puerto Rico, where he leads the firm's strategic vision, and growth initiatives. Under his leadership, the firm is focused on strengthening its position in the financial services industry by expanding its capabilities, enhancing client experience, and creating opportunities for financial professionals.

A second-generation financial services professional, José Juan joined MassMutual Puerto Rico in 2011 and has held leadership roles of increasing responsibility, including Sales Manager, before being appointed General Agent in 2019. He is committed to advancing initiatives that strengthen the firm's capabilities, enhance the client experience, and support the organization’s continued development.

José Juan earned a bachelor's degree in International Relations with concentrations in Finance and Economics from St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas. He holds FINRA Series 7, 63, and 24 licenses and served as the MassMutual Agents Association (AAX) Representative for Puerto Rico from 2012 to 2019. Throughout his career, he has received numerous industry and leadership recognitions, including being named to Caribbean Business' 40 Under 40 in 2014, and guiding the firm to prestigious honors such as the MassMutual Chairman's Trophy* and the LAMP Master Agency Award (a leadership and management recognition from LIMRA based on agency performance criteria).

He remains committed to advancing the firm's mission of helping individuals, families, and businesses achieve greater financial security while supporting the organization’s ongoing development.
